Welcome to Sweet Little Buddies
July 20, 2026

Trying to organize my thoughts and put them into words has been harder than I expected. Still, I'm determined to share a glimpse of my inner world with you—whether you're quietly following along, cheering under every post, or wondering if you could start a creative journey like this yourself.
This blog is going to be honest. Unfiltered. Real.
Because behind every crochet pattern, every Instagram post, and every finished project is simply a human being—just like you. Someone with flaws, worries, fears, moments of self-doubt, and countless dreams. Someone who is still figuring things out...
Why I Started This Blog
I spent a long time wondering what my very first blog post should be about.
As a child and teenager, I loved reading and writing. Somewhere along the way, those passions quietly disappeared beneath the responsibilities and priorities of adulthood.
So, writing this feels a little like coming home.
As I type these words, I can't help but think about you—the person reading them.
Who are you? How did you find this little corner of the internet? Have we met before, or are we complete strangers?
However you got here, I'm genuinely happy that you did.
If you're interested in crochet, pattern design, or balancing creativity with motherhood, I hope you'll find something valuable here. I'll be sharing my experiences, the lessons I've learned, the mistakes I've made, and the ways I've grown along the way.
If my journey can help you avoid even one of the hurdles I've stumbled over, then this blog will have served its purpose.
How Crochet Changed My Life
I started crocheting in 2023, shortly after my first baby was born.
Like many new mums, I wanted to make something special for my little one—something handmade, filled with love, and created just for him. I never imagined that while I was making something for him, I would also be rediscovering a part of myself.

As I learned this craft and poured my heart into every stitch, crochet quietly became much more than a hobby.
It became my quiet place.
My way to slow down.
My sanctuary after long days.
Most importantly, it awakened something I thought I had lost forever: my creativity.
For years, I believed I simply wasn't a creative person. I tried different hobbies, but sooner or later I always lost interest.
Crochet was different.
No matter how exhausting the day had been, I always found myself reaching for my crochet hook.
It's as if I picked it up one day and never truly put it down again.
Finding My Place in the Crochet Community
When I started sharing my work on Instagram, I had no expectations.
I certainly didn't expect to discover such a kind, supportive crochet community. Learning how social media worked took time, and like many beginners, I made plenty of mistakes along the way. But that's a story for another blog post.
In 2025, I released my very first crochet pattern: Apex the Wolf.

Looking back now, I smile at how determined I was to make it perfect.
I spent more than four months adjusting the shape, experimenting with colour changes, refining the proportions, and reworking tiny details over and over again. At the time, I believed my first pattern had to be flawless.
Of course, perfection doesn't really exist.
Looking back, I can see so many things I would do differently today—but that's also proof of how much I've grown.
Every pattern I've designed since then has taught me something new. Each one has helped me improve my skills, trust my instincts, and gain confidence as a designer.
When I look back at where this journey began, I still can't quite believe that one small decision to learn crochet has grown into something that brings so much joy—not only to me, but hopefully to the people who make my patterns too.
The Reality Behind Social Media
Fast forward to today.
Creating is still one of my greatest joys—as long as I don't let pressure take over.
Social media has introduced me to wonderful people, opened doors I never expected, and connected me with an incredible creative community.
But it also has another side.
Comparison.
Anxiety.
Fear of missing out.
The constant feeling that everyone else has somehow figured everything out while you're still trying to keep up.
Those thoughts are powerful if we allow them to be.
Maybe that's one of the reasons I decided to start this blog.
Instagram is wonderful for sharing finished projects, but it doesn't always leave room for the thoughts behind them.
Here, I hope to slow things down.
To share the wins, but also the struggles.
Not because I have all the answers — but because writing helps me sort through my own thoughts.
And because I want to remind both myself and you that nobody has it all together.
If you're struggling too, I hope you'll find comfort in knowing you're not alone.
Until Next Time...
If you've made it all the way to the end, thank you.
I hope you've gotten to know the person behind Sweet Little Buddies a little better.
In my next blog post, I'll be sharing something that's been especially relevant in my own life lately: how I cope with creative burnout and the pressure that can come with social media.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed, uninspired, or like you're falling behind, I hope you'll join me. Maybe together we can remember that creativity isn't a race—and sometimes the best thing we can do is simply slow down.
Until then,
Happy crocheting ♡
